Chronicles of Spellborn - 3 days to go...no invites

I am not sure what to make of a company like Acclaim.

How does the success of this MMO even measure up to a company who cannot for the life of them put together a Closed Beta properly.
Will this game even garner any subscribers based on the company running the servers.

Today a forum post from one of the CM's just blatantly states..

"No invites have gone out."

Then it was noted that if you HAD an account already with Acclaim, you were golden for CB invites. Come to find out that my account (and many others) were pending.
If you sign up again, it then sets you to active for the CB.
In so many words, do not assume you may get an invite as Acclaim cannot even decide who it's current customers are or are not.

Stupid incompetence.

Anyways, the launch date was to be DEC. 5th, but really, that could change one hour before launch, so try not to get the hopes up too much.

As I find out more, I will post it here...

Good luck TCoS, with Acclaim behind you...you will need it.

I was happy for Spellborn when they announced that after much trials and tribulations they finally had a US publisher for TCOS.

Then they announced that publisher was Acclaim who I'm sorry to say, just doesn't "get it." I don't even think they're the same Acclaim they used to be -- weren't they taken over by someone else but kept the Acclaim name? I forget, and am not in the mood to research it, but I don't have any faith in them actually supporting a real game. And that's too bad for TCOS.

Yeah, someone just bought the name when the original company declared bankruptcy. Its a completely different company, with no relation. I don't really understand why someone would do that.

That would be like if I paid Openedge1 $100,000 for his name and then went and started a blog about turnips, completely unrelated to anything he was doing before. That does not make sense. The wookie defense makes more sense than that. It does not make sense.

Agreed...

I hate turnips. I would sue.

So is everyone going to nerdrage over not getting into this closed beta just like with Conan?

I said it then, and I'll say it now: closed beta is for the developers to figure out bugs and shit, they don't have to invite anybody. QQ less.

You are kidding...right?

Have you followed this story?

Spellborn is to be "RELEASED" on Dec. 5th in the EU.
For some reason Acclaim "claims" they need to do a Closed Beta, yet will be using the same code as the EU "released" code.

So, basically on Dec. 5th while overseas the game will be running with full release code, the US and UK market will be testing already released code...for...something...

Now, take those QQ's and put them...uh...away...lol.
